Cross Block Back From Vacation

While driving around Virginia checking out quilt shops, I worked on some Flowering Snowball blocks in the car. I was amazed at how much I was able to get done. I know two blocks doesn’t seem like a lot, but since these are handpieced, this represents quite a bit of work.

I also began thinking about the border blocks. Nothing definite yet, but I think I am nearing the end of this project. Stay tuned.

  1. I love this block! your positioning of the B&W pulls them together really well while allowing for "scrappy"

  2. Thanks! I really wanted the piece to be scrappy and using multiple b/w fabrics allowed me to do that. I had to be careful about the balance of b/w to each other in each fabric. The fabrics in this group succeeded pretty well. There are a couple I am using, which don’t quite have the right balance. In the overall quilt I think they will work fine.
