Mosaic from Europe

SisterK finally gave me a CDof photos of mosaics from France and Italy. She spent 9 months there a couple of years ago. Before she left I told her to take photos of mosaics for me. I plan to use them for filler when I have nothing quilty to report on. They are gorgeous!

The ring is so elegant and simple. It would make a wonderful area rug. I can imagine it on the floor with a simple, yet elegant round wooden table scattered with books and some of those chairs that Camilla had delivered for her shop today. [I would want the chairs in a different color, though]

This is a mosaic I would have never expected. I guess what I wouldn’t have expected was the sparkle.

Now for the silliness and fun. If you aren’t into complete silliness, stop reading and come back tomorrow.

I gave myself a makeover. I also created a new picture to represent my blog. I just needed something new. Very silly and fun. Hope you like it.

  1. I like your new makeover. I like to change my dolls to fit with the season, the weather, and my mood. You’re old doll looked a lot like you but the new doll looks like you’re ready to shuck some responsibilities for the rest of the summer and have some fun. Good on you! I’m still loving my fairy dolls but I want to change my photo on the top of my blog and I can’t figure out how to do it. Argh.

I like your tile images. I thought of you A LOT when I was out shopping yesterday. I may not be the Polka Dot Queen, like you, but I do worship Dots almost as much as you do. They always catch my eye. I bought a lot of polka dots yesterday. Photos and blog post will follow but probably not until tonight or tomorrow as I have a date with a friend for Art in the Garden this afternoon.

  2. Thanks for your compliments! I mostly change my ‘look’ when I feel like. I liked the old one a lot. Just the whole look was really me. It was a little dark, though, so I wanted a bit of a change. I am ready to shed some responsibilities and have some fine. You are right on the money.

I’ll look for your newest blog post.

  3. Julie: Thanks! I think my hair is too short to wear a headband right now, but I may take this picture to my hairdresser when I am ready to grow my hair again.
