It is at this point in the process where I just want someone to take me out of my misery.
Obviously, I am being dramatic, but really, I don’t want to do this project anymore and I wonder why I thought it would be a good idea. I have already made 2 diamond quilts (the Eye Spy is essentially a diamond quilt and how could I top FOTY 2010?) – aren’t two enough.
I feel like I barely accomplished anything on Sunday, though I did sew most of the right side into large chunks.
Still, I have it in process and I will finish it before I move on to the next project. I may need to intersperse a new project into the queue before I tackle another UFO just to keep my sanity. The Corner Store, however, is quite appealing.
I feel the same way about my Unicorn quilt. I hate feeling like I am forcing it. I have started sewing the strips together for my Leafy Quilt. I HAD to get some sort of fabric therapy!!! 😀
I did one little thing last night and feel a lot better about the piece this morning. Amazing how that works. There is a tension between forcing the sewing and letting it languish. I have found that this is the stage where I let things go and then they become UFOs and then I have a big long list of UFOs. I have found that if I power through or make a block in between (rather than starting a new project), then I can get through the hard parts. The sewing of diamonds isn’t hard, but it is tricky and it just feels like it takes forever. I’ll get through it. Thanks.
I like the negative space diamonds. Are they staying?
I like the negative space diamonds too!
I don’t know what negative space diamonds are?
I want to know about the negative space diamonds too. Hope they’re staying. Don’t give up this is looking really great!
I still love this quilt. Diamonds are a girl’s best friend (once they are done)! I love how cheerful this quilt is!
Negative space note: if you are leaving lots of negative space, some should be black and some should be gray thereby turning the quilt into a commentary on life. (JK. Trying to be too philosophical and artsy today!)
I am guessing you all mean those big spaces. They are not staying. They are just the empty spaces where I haven’t yet put jelly roll race diamonds in yet. They are…interesting, but not in this plan. I’d love to see what you do with this idea. 😉
