Details

This quilt was inspired by a video made by the Missouri Star Quilt Company and the egging on of Sandy from Quilting…for the Rest of Us. Most of the Twilters participating did their work over the Martin Luther King holiday. I was out of town and following along via Twitter.Part of the reason I decided to do it was that I had a Mod Century Layer Cake and enough grey for a background. I was interested in the technique as well. The video makes the process look a lot easier than it actually is. I don’t want you to get the impression this is a hard block, but the entire block is on the bias and Layer Cakes are not always cut square, so I had to use a lot of Best Press and trimming to keep the parts true.

Disappearing Pinwheel Back (Finished)

The back is made up of some older grey and black prints that were in my grey bin.

I seem to enjoy sewing projects where others are sewing the same project.

It took about two months to piece and I finished the binding on May 30, 2014.
